COUNTRY COACH, inside-outside, Art Castle Plüschow, Germany, 2005; Country Coach is a covered wagon with a lens at the long side becoming a driving cinema. The audience is sitting sideway in front of the 4 x 2 m screen watching like a 1:1 film, upside down and the wrong way around.
The spectators are taken back to the source of the development of the picture producing apparatus of seeing. On the projection screen the passengers see events outside the camera obscura, living projections upside down and reversed left to right as a 1:1 film. The novel perception of space and direction of movement require re-orientation. Image and sound remain synchronised whereby the sound often announces the expected image, albeit from the other side. This active and complex reception leads to intense three dimensional impressions.

Die Betrachter werden an den Ausgangspunkt der Entwicklung des bilderzeugenden Apparates des Sehens versetzt. Die Passagiere nehmen auf einer Projektionsfläche das Geschehen und Landschaft außerhalb der Camera obscura seitenverkehrt und auf dem Kopf als 1:1 Film wahr. Das Raumempfinden und die Wahrnehmung der Bewegungsrichtungen wollen neu austariert werden. Bild und Ton bleiben synchron, wobei die Geräusche oftmals das zu erwartende Bild ankündigen, allerdings von der anderen Seite. Diese aktive komplexe Rezeption führt zu intensiven dreidimensionalen Bildeindrücken.
